www.dorset-arms.co.uk Recently restored and privately owned and run by the neighbouring Buckhurst Estate, this is one of our favourite places to visit. The bar has retained its pub feel with lovely fireplace, old beams and wooden floor and exudes character and friendliness. Walking through to the restaurant there is a homely feel with old sporting prints and bookshelves lining the walls. The food is excellent pub grub. Good portions and a mixed menu of traditional pub classics and some more adventurous choices. Much of the meat is sourced locally and from the estate. You could cycle there joining the Forest Way path from Groombridge along the disused railway line. (1.5-2 hours walk/10 minutes drive)
